Last week was World Religion Week at Astley Park and in 7A we were learning about Judaism.
7A participated in various activities across the week learning different facts about Judaism. We took part in Circle Times, listened to stories, explored artefacts and cooked Hamantaschen Cookies.
7A were able to recall many facts across the week including;
- Judaism is one of the 6 biggest world religions
- Judaism has over 15,000 followers.
- Judaism’s ‘star’ symbol is also called the ‘Star of David’
- People who follow Judaism are also called ‘Jews’ or ‘Jewish’
- The religious building for Judaism is called a ‘Synagogue’
- Hamantaschen Cookies are a triangular filled pastry associated with the Jewish holiday ‘Purim’
- The holy book is called a ‘Torah’ and is not touched by people
Well Done, 7A!
Why not ask your child what they can remember about Judaism?
