Today’s World Book Day was a huge success! Thank you all for your efforts, our students looked amazing! Some truly brilliant costumes.
Well done to our Staff team who made it so fabulous due to their amazing efforts as always! What a fantastic day!
Our primary learners were treated to some brilliantly engaging attention autism sessions, courtesy of Mrs Mahood and Mrs James. Classes also took part in sensory exploration of the theme using tactiles and objects of reference, with some learners demonstrating their interest in books linked to the Superheroes and Villains theme.
Our secondary phase enjoyed epic drama sessions with Divergent Drama Workshops. Jess and Vanessa developed the theme of Superheroes and Villains, allowing learners to develop their own individual characters, together with super powers, through drama and games!! Students across the phase looked at different aspects of the theme. Some learners created their own Superheroes and Villains, whilst some year 11 students created acrostic poems linked to texts about real life heroes. Some learners even made Superhero cakes!
Another successful World Book Day at Astley Park School.
The day ended with a costume parade where learners were able to show off their amazing costumes. Well done everyone.
