Welcome back 7A!
Last week 7A jumped back into routine and explored what we are learning about over the summer term. 7A, 8A and 9A are all learning under the theme of ‘Welcome to Hogwarts’ and have been spilt into the Hogwarts houses, earning points for their house (at the end of the term the house with the most points will win a prize!).
On Tuesday, Astley Park School celebrated Eid-al-Fitr. 7A spent the day focusing on Eid-al-Fitr and why it is celebrated. We made some decorations for class and in the afternoon listened to some music while tasting some different foods.
We learned that:
- Eid-al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims
- Eid-al-Fitr follows Ramadan, which is when Muslims fast for a month.
- Eid-al-Fitr means ‘festival of breaking the fast’
- Muslims celebrate by praying, visiting Mosque, giving presents, and eating lots of good food with family and friends.
Well done, for a great first week, 7A.
