Back in February year 11 began an environmental investigation into the schools CO2 footprint.

We went around each member of staff in school and asked how they travelled to school and back each day and where they came from. We then worked out what mileage they travelled and what each persons footprint looked like. We then needed to calculate how many trees we would need to plant to counteract our CO2 footprint, after calculation we realised that as a school we would need to plant 5500 trees a year to offset our carbon footprint, the class were surprised.

We then took this information to the Woodland Trust and asked if we could have some trees to plant at school. This week our first 30 trees arrived and today we began our planting. A great team effort.

Well done year 11 a great positive impact on your environment.
