10P have a had a brilliant first day at Bendrigg! We started bright and early, getting on the coach at 10 and arriving just after 11. We had time when we arrived to find our rooms and make our beds before meeting up with everyone for lunch which everyone said was yummy!

After this we met our instructor Mel, who would be with us for the week and leading our expedition. Our first activity was to plan our routes for our walk and canoeing and also discuss what kinds of equipment we would need to take. We then went on a walk of the grounds before finishing off our afternoon practicing who to use a camp stove, which we will be needing tomorrow night. 

After having a bit of chill time in our rooms we went for tea (spag bol) and then it was time for nighttime orienteering! We split into two smaller groups and headed off with our head torches and maps. Everyone did a really good job helping to navigate and we found nearly all of markers!

It was then time for bed. We all headed back to our rooms to put our pjs on and have a bit of a relax with our friends before lights out. Everyone said today was really fun and they can’t wait for tomorrow. Night!
