Happy New Year and welcome back.
7A have settled back into school life very well this week and what a cold week it has been. 7A have been wrapped up this week enjoying playing in the snow.
During our Nuture Time everyone showed fantastic school values using Teamwork to work together on their chosen activities.
On Monday during our weekend news session we heard all about everyone’s Christmas and the exciting time everyone had. There was lots of chat about the different presents and all the food and chocolate that was eaten. Sounds like everybody had a great time!!!
7A worked extremely hard on our School Values this week. Each pupil thought very hard about each one and wrote about it. They then thought of a New a year resolution stating what they wanted to get better at this year. 7A came up with some fantastic answers and look forward to seeing them achieve their goals for 2025.
In our The World about Me lesson 7A had a look at Picture News, they learnt all about the Big Garden Birdwatch. This is an annual UK wide citizen science project held every January, inviting people to gather data to support the work of scientists. Both the Big Garden and the Big Schools' Birdwatch offer people the chance to count birds visiting gardens, playgrounds or school outdoor spaces. This activity helps identify bird populations and the most common species. The data collected then helps scientists monitor bird numbers and deduce whether any species are in decline. Mrs Chaloner has registered the class and we will be gathering data at a later date. 7A are quite excited and looking forward to collecting data.
In our Thinking and Problem solving learners did very well using different methods of measuring chosen items. They could distinguish between big, small, long and short.
They then measured items using cubes or rulers recognising cm and mm measurements.
Well done 7A….2025 is looking very bright (unlike the chilly weather)
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
