This week in 10P we've been up to lots of things!
On Monday morning most of us were in class working on our days of the week in maths whilst Sophia was at her final work experience session at Busy Bodies nursery. In the afternoon we split into two groups; half us went to ASDA to do our shopping for food tech and breakfast, whilst the other half of us walked up to Devonshire Recreation park in order to practice our road safety and learning how to cross roads safely - as well as getting to have a play on the play area!
It was time for food tech on Tuesday morning. Those of us who remained in school were making carrot cupcakes with Mrs Price and Miss Wilkins whilst Chris and Tig went out with Miss Carter to Booths to start their work place visits. It was really interesting to see how everything worked behind the scenes and were excited to go back next week to have a go at working on the shop floor. In the afternoon we headed to down to the sports hall to carry on with our hockey lessons.
On Wednesday it was time for maths and science! In maths we were looking at tens and ones and their place value and in science we continued to look at friction and this week we were seeing how fast trains rolled down a ramp depending on their surface.
We went for our usual swimming lesson on Thursday morning where everyone keeps improving every week! We had a busy afternoon with most of our learners doing practice English reading and writing papers and also some ASDAN work on how to keep ourselves safe in the kitchen.
On Friday morning we had a visit to Newman college with some of our friends from year 11. When we got there the Newman staff told us that they wanted to take the learners on our tour without us and so we left them with the team and waited for them in the main atrium. When we all met back up everyone said it was a really cool college and it was really interesting walking around. In the afternoon we had some catch up work to do before golden time and then it was time for assembly.
A big well done to our Star of the Week Sophia for having a postive attitude to her work place visits and being very respectful whilst she was there! We hope everyone has a lovely, safe weekend and we'll see you on Monday!
