What a busy half term we have had. Well done 10A you have worked super hard.

On Monday morning we did Maths and after break we did an English quiz. We all worked independently and quietly.
In the afternoon some of us went to Tesco to buy our breakfast things. We walked to Tesco and we caught the bus back to practice for our independence skills for our Asdan work. The learners that stayed in school caught up with their Asdan work and finished an English reading practice paper.

On Tuesday morning two  of the learners went to Booth’s supermarket for a work placement. They were shown how to use a till and serve customers and the shown how to fill the shelves to keep the shop looking fully stocked.
The learners in school discussed if they thought we should be allowed to travel anywhere in the world. We watched a video about the amount of people who travel to Mount Everest to climb the mountain and leave lots of rubbish and erosion.
The pupils looked at a country they wanted to travel to and what they might want to do while they were there, they then had to think about how they would take responsibility and respect the country and their culture.
In the afternoon we went to All Seasons Leisure Centre for our last P.E session. We practiced more football skills, dribbling, shooting and scoring goals and passing. Everyone has enjoyed learning these new skills.

On Wednesday morning we did some maths before travelling to Hindley Swimming Pool for our last swimming lesson of this half term.
The swimming instructor asked the pupils to warm up using any stroke, most of the learners chose freestyle. Next she asked them to hold a float with two hands and practice their leg kick, everyone tried really hard and completed several lengths. Next she asked them to swim on their backs using backstroke arms where possible.
In the afternoon 10A made some valentines decorations for the disco on Thursday.

On Thursday we went to Fleetwood beach, we walked around, some of us collected shells, and some of us made rock towers. We ate our lunch by the beach, it was a very cold day but we all wrapped up warm. After we’d finished our lunch, we headed back to the bus and some of us enjoyed a warm blackcurrant on the bus, to warm us up. When we got back to school we all had a nice sit down, it was Daniel’s birthday on Thursday and Daniel brought in some chocolate cakes for us all. Thank you Daniel, we hope you had a great birthday.

On Friday morning our learners continued with their work experience, we have received great feedback from the teachers about how brilliant the 10A pupils are at helping support the other learners. On Friday we celebrated NSPCC Number day. We got into groups and went around the school grounds with our Ipads and we had to find something to represent the number 1, then number 2. We did this with numbers 1-10, all learners got a picture for every number!
In Friday afternoon we enjoyed golden time with our friends and then watched celebration assembly, this weeks star of the week is Ollie and Aaron for great work experience at Booths, over the last 2 weeks, well done Ollie and Aaron.
