9P Holi Festival and Science Week
In class 9P, we have celebrating the Holi colour festival and science week.
For the Holi colour festival, we spent some time as a class learning about Holi and the traditions.
Holi is a Hindu festival that celebrates spring, love and new life. Some families hold religious ceremonies, and for many Holi is a time of fun. It’s a colour festival, with dancing, singing and throwing powder paint and coloured water.
Holi is known as the festival of colours.
9P enjoyed celebrating the Holi festival together at school running through the bright and beautiful colours together on our school field. We danced along to the music together. We also tried some of the foods during our Holi festival, we enjoyed popcorn and Indian sweet desserts. We had a fantastic time celebrating the Holi festival.
Science Week
We have enjoyed celebrated science week in school this week.
In class 9P we did an experiment “to grow a Rainbow”.
Our English and Maths lessons were linked to Science Week through learning about the weather. We wrote sentences in English using Colourful Semantics about the weather and we did tally charts and bar charts weather written activities in Maths. Some of the pupils did weather themed counting activities.
This was all linked to our theme, Change and Adapt.
