Welcome back to 8A.
What a very exciting week it has been. On Tuesday everyone came back into school very excited to start a new academic year.
8A started off their week with Picture news, this talked about different flags. Everybody had to design a flag to represent themselves, their class, or our school community.
On Tuesday afternoon Miss Della Fera, who will be teaching 8A on a Tuesday afternoon, started to show the young learners Superflex, this teaches social observation, social awareness, flexible thinking, and self-regulation. 8A discussed emotions and how our thinking brain deals with different things. 8A came up with some fantastic ideas on how to help us to regulate.
Everybody coloured in their own thinking brain ready for the weeks ahead.
8A’s work on Superheroes has got off to a flying start.
They have continued the week back into their normal routine of Reading, writing and some team bonding.
In science class have been working on forces. They went in small groups around school to find things that needed pushing or pulling then returned to class to put the information into book creator.
8A were very excited to go back to something we started during our time looking at the Egyptians… they mummified some fruit and we had a look to see how it had worked out. Think it was safe to say they were impressed if not a little disgusted by what they saw.
8A were very excited to be top table at lunchtime on Friday. Mr Welsh served them lunch and gave a treat of hot chocolate and tea. It was great to be back in the hall for lunches.
Everyone has settled back in our class routines extremely well and the staff team are very proud at how much more mature they have become over the Summer break.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
