We’ve reached double figures for the weeks we’ve enjoyed in 7P, ten weeks has flown past and we’ve enjoyed every minute of our time together!

This week we have celebrated “Friendship Week”, we started the week by wearing odd socks to show that everyone is different and that’s okay, and we’ve spoken about what makes a good friend as well as playing games to help foster friendships within class.

On Monday morning we started the day by looking at some photos of our friend Jack’s 12th Birthday Party that he had at the weekend, and we all agreed that it looked like Jack had had a wonderful time! Thank you Jack for showing us your photos!

We continued our Spanish lessons on Monday afternoon, building on what we’d learnt last week as this week we learnt how to answer ¿Cómo estás? (How are you?). We learnt how to say Feliz (Happy), Cansado (Tired), Excitado (Excited) and Triste (Sad). We also learnt how to say Estoy (I am). We then took it in turns to answer ¿Cómo estás?, with Mr Preece and Miss Malloy demonstrating first. Miss Malloy asked “¿Cómo estás?” and Mr Preece answered “Estoy muy cansado” (I am very tired - It had been a very long day!). The rest of the class then took it in turns to answer the question, and we had lots of “¡Estoy feliz!”

On Tuesday morning we had P.E with half the class continuing to build on their balancing skills and the other half continuing to work on dance. At 11am everyone observed the two minutes silence for Remembrance Day. In the afternoon we played some games to work on our turn-taking skills, as well as our communication skills and understanding that it’s okay to lose. We played Duck, Duck, Goose, Musical Chairs as well as some Parachute games, please accept our apologies if your child comes home singing “C’est La Vie” by B*Witched, Miss Fraser wanted to introduce the class to some classic music.

We welcomed Miss Taylor to class on Wednesday, Miss Taylor will be joining us as a TA1 and we are all very happy to have her in class. During the morning we got to know Miss Taylor as well as doing some reading and phonics. We played Charades on Wednesday afternoon, as well as Duck, Duck, Goose and Musical Chairs as we continued to build on our communication and turn-taking skills (We used Piano covers of Disney songs for Musical Chairs this time). The School Photographer was also in school on Wednesday afternoon, and we all sat beautifully to have our photos taken.

Despite protests from Mr Preece that it is only November we practiced Christmas Songs on Thursday afternoon, it was pointed out to Mr Preece that we need to practice for our Christmas Performance and so Mr Preece stopped being such a Scrooge (Temporarily)! All of our learners joined in well, as did the teachers, and we showed how well we could sign and sing. The Secondary Christmas Performance is Monday 15th of December, we’d love to see as many of you there as possible!

On Friday morning we completed our Challenge Yourself to 25 for Children In Need. For 2025 Children In Need have launched the Challenge Yourself to 25 where they are asking people to challenge themselves do 25 of something, whether that’s running or walking 25km or baking 25 cakes! In 7P we decorated 25 Pudsey Bear cakes, and our learners did a fantastic job of it! We also coloured in some Pudsey Bear pictures! At lunchtime we were the Top Table and Miss Wells served us Hot Chocolates which we all enjoyed so a big thank you to Miss Wells! During the afternoon we enjoyed Golden Time before going to assembly.

Our Star Of The Week this week is Jayden for working hard all week and being respectful to teachers! Well done Jayden, we’re all very proud of you!

Have a fantastic weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday for another exciting week!
