In 10A this week we learned all about who St Andrew is and why St Andrews day is celebrated.

We enjoyed learning lots of new facts about St Andrew, including why the Scottish flag now has a cross on it! The children were able to remember these facts and write them down. We also learnt how St Andrew’s day is celebrated, learning all about the traditional kilts and tartan patterns Scottish people wear and the traditional Scottish dance performed on St Andrews day.

We ended the day we played a Scottish song, of course it was the Proclaimers, 500 miles! Which they really enjoyed. Some of the activities we did were to extend the tartan pattern on a kilt and designed our own window thistle
