Christianity

Today we looked at what Christianity was. To help the learners, Miss Hendy did a mind map on the board that linked to the words associated with Christianity.

The learners did really well and came up with words like Bible, church, God and Jesus just naming a few. Staff did help to add words to this mind map too.

We then discussed the different faiths in Christianity which they might have been christened as and looked at either Church of England or Catholic.

On asking the learners were unsure. Thank you to the parents / carers for letting us know this.

The learners then looked at a picture of Miss Hendy when she was being christened as a baby.

We then talked about symbols which were associated with christianity like a Cross which Jesus died on, a light from a candle which links to Jesus who was known as the light of the world, trinity symbol which is god as three different parts, god the father, the son and the Holy Spirit and a dove which is a symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit just naming a few.

The learners then did some matching of symbols and wrote a small sentence of what the Christian symbol meant.
