Hello, and welcome to another week in 7P! We’ve had a brilliant week, and our learners have really impressed us with their ability to cope with change this week. We’re all very proud of each and every learner in our class as they’ve done fantastically to cope with the fact that for the last two days we’ve not been able to access our class outdoor area due to some work being done out there.

On Monday we explored emotions in the morning, looking at the different emotions we might experience and identifying them, and in the afternoon we did number work where we counted up to twenty before playing a game of “What Time Is It Mr Wolf?” which led us in perfectly to our topic of time and finally to cap off a very busy afternoon we had PSHE where we spoke about body parts and the idea of privacy.

Tuesday morning saw us take part in a fantastic art lesson with Miss Troughton, where we spoke about silhouettes (which is why there are some photos, including the cover photo of this blog, where some of our learners have tights over their faces), we then took it in turn to pose like statues before using charcoal to trace some pictures of statues and then we used plasticine to make statues of our own. In the afternoon we continued our amazing number work, as well as experimenting with different ways of mark making.

It was P.E on Wednesday morning and we continued with gymnastics with all of our learners showing ever increasing confidence in their abilities before having a Phonics lesson back in class. In the afternoon we had a music lesson during which we played “Musical Statues”, took part in a listening game, got the boomwhackers out for a couple of songs and finally we played a game of “Sleeping Lions”, during which Mr Preece saw a good opportunity to have a quick nap on the floor as again it had been a very busy, and incredibly fun, afternoon.

Thursday saw changes to our routines as the aforementioned work in our outdoor area started and we all handled the change brilliantly, as well as the noise from outside. In the morning some of the class went swimming, and the rest stayed in school for Food Tech, and in the afternoon we had a “The World Around Me” lesson where we looked at who helps us, and our learners made books using their iPads about who helps us in school.

Friday morning was Phonics and Literacy, with us all enjoying some very well deserved Golden Time in the afternoon before assembly.

Our Star Of The Week this week is Jake! Jake has worked very hard this week to communicate with teachers, as well as coping brilliantly without access to our outdoor area! We’re all very proud of you Jake! Well done!

As always we hope you enjoy your weekend but please enjoy it by being safe! See you on Monday for another fun week in 7P!
