This morning started with a nice catch‑up with friends before lessons began. In maths, we worked in groups on a practice paper and went through the questions together. Then we did Picture News, and our question was “Why do people explore space?” We talked about space, the Artemis mission, and why scientists want to learn more about the Moon and other planets. Then we worked in partners and chose a planet in our solar system (not Earth). We researched our planet and made a holiday advert to persuade people to visit, thinking about the positive things we could talk about. In the afternoon, we visited the Library, we returned our books and took out some new ones.
On Tuesday we had maths in the morning and we did another example test, we went through it all together in our groups, to help prepare us. After this, we went into groups and we did a practice writing paper, we worked all together to look at the test. After this we did guided reading, some of us had a practice paper that we completed independently, and some of us read 1:1. In the afternoon we spoke about our futures and jobs. We discussed different jobs we could do, we looked at different fields of work and how many different jobs there are. We all picked a field of work and listed different jobs related to the field. We then fed back our ideas to class.
On Wednesday we had a lady, called Shauna visit from the charity Key, she spoke to us about relationships and staying safe. After lunch we had a word search that Shauna had given us to complete. After this we did 1:1 guided reading.
On Thursday morning we came in and had a chat with our friends. After that, half of us went swimming and half of us stayed at school and completed some maths puzzles and English puzzles. Today was world fairy tale day, and we had some masks printed off and got to act out our own fairy tale. In the afternoon we went to Tesco to by all the stuff we need for breakfast barms tomorrow.
In the morning, we did our enterprise and made butties for the staff . During internet safety week, we had to make a video showing internet safety, these puppet pals videos got judged by our digital leaders and our video won! As we won, we got to have a Nintendo switch party today and had some lovely sweet treats, this was good fun! Then in the afternoon we had well being time, we watched a film, some of us continued playing on the switch, and the rest of us had a good chat with our friends. Then, we went into the hall and had celebration assembly, this weeks star of the week is Jake, for excellent swimming and swimming right to the bottom of the water, well done Jake.
