  • All pupils SLCN are assessed and information shared with both parents and teaching staff.
  • All pupils have a communication Profile (which is updated annually) which identifies strengths and areas for development
  • All teachers offered support to set and deliver SLCN targets on Education Plans
  • All parents are offered initial  home visit to identify needs
  • All parents offered drop-in sessions and training

 

Improve pupils speech, language and communication skills

  • Deliver 3 X 5 Week Signalong Foundation course (1 per term) for parents & carers, including certification & manual.
  • Deliver a Signalong Foundation  course for new Teachers & TAs including certification & manual.
  • Deliver a Signalong Foundation  re-fresher course for identified Teachers & TAs.

 

To enable pupils to develop personal social emotional health & well-being

  • All female pupils in  KS3 & 4 will be invited to attend a weekly “US Girls” group
  • Pupils will experience a wide range of activities that are designed to enhance and promote their PSHE & self-esteem, confidence and emotional resilience.

  • All male pupils in  KS3 & 4 will be invited to attend a weekly “US Boys” group
  • Pupils will experience a wide range of activities that are designed to enhance and promote their PSHE & self-esteem, confidence and emotional resilience.

  • All primary pupils will receive additional in class support from TA1 for additional 1:1 and small group Sounds-Write interventions.

  • Purchase Multisensory phonic/reading resources
  • Nursery Rhyme Sacks
  • Develop a parent loan service

  • All pupils will have the opportunity to participate in all curricular and extra-curricular Visits, including the annual Outdoor and Adventurous activity residential holiday
  • Identified pupils will have been offered complimentary uniform 
  • Identified pupils will have been offered complimentary breakfast and snacks.

 

To provide families with support to enable pupils to develop a positive attitude towards learning

  • All families will be offered an initial home visit to identify areas of support;
  • All families will be signposted to a range of support services.
  • All families will be offered support to attend school based meetings & medical appointments and meetings with other multi-agency professionals.

 

To enable pupils better manage their SEMHD.

  • Identified cohort of pupils with SEMHD will be offered a weekly session over the academic year following a programme aimed at improving their social communication and emotional regulation skills.

 

To enable pupils to improve their readiness to learn.

  • Identified cohort of pupils will have access to OT from Shine Therapy who will observe pupils and carry out individual assessments and provide detailed information regards their sensory needs and preferences. OT will support the teachers to implement pupil’s sensory diets into their day to improve their readiness to learn.
