A big hello to everyone reading this!
I am writing this as I have just finished our third video call with 8G this afternoon. I hope that you all enjoyed it and had lots of fun playing Numicon Bingo together. We all loved seeing you! A big thank you to Miss Curry and Mrs McDonnell for joining us for the call too. Mrs England is very sorry that you couldn’t see or hear her on the call, she was having some technical difficulties in school with one of the computers! Fingers crossed she gets to join in with us next week.
A big congratulations to Jake who is our Star of the Week this week too- he has been doing lots of writing practice at home over the last few weeks and can now write his full name independently! Brilliant work Jake. It was so lovely to let Jake know he was Star of the Week on our video call as well for a change.
You’ve all been busy bees this week, let’s see what you’ve been getting up to…
Ben has been continuing with his number work. He is counting up to 13 objects accurately! He has also been planting sunflowers in the garden with his sister, Grace. I can’t wait to see how tall they grow! Ben has been working hard on his writing this week and has been practicing writing his numbers too. Ben has also been learning Mrs Mahood’s Dance Monkey routine this week, Mrs Mahood said what a brilliant job you’ve done with the dance Ben, well done!
This week, Charlie has been getting back into work mode after a lovely relaxing half term. He has been building words from our Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza story, with help from his brother Oliver and has been answering subtraction word problems using the Numicon and the subtraction covers. Charlie has also been working on his self-help and independence skill at home- helping to peg the washing out on the washing line and following the recipe to make his own delicious pizza! Mum says Charlie has enjoyed singing along to the pizza song too. Super work, Charlie!
Daisy has been reading lots of stories while she has been at home this week and doing lots of sounding out too! She has also added Mrs Mahood’s dance to her morning exercise routine and has had lots of fun learning the moves. Mrs Mahood has seen your video Daisy and her and Jess are really impressed with your moves. Daisy has also been doing some number work, working out how many pizza toppings she has without having to count them and instead, putting them into the formation of the Numicon shapes to work out her answer. She’s been working hard on her Colourful Semantics too and commenting on the pictures from our Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza story. Daisy has had a go at making a pizza this week too and then used the rest of the ingredients to help Mum make a tomato pasta sauce, that sounds yummy! Wonderful work, Daisy!
Francesca has worked super hard at home this week. She has been writing key words from our Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza story and building the words with the letter cards. She’s been playing on Education City and Purple Mash, and playing a memory game with Dad. Francesca has been using the Numicon to answer addition and subtraction questions as well as continuing to put numbers in order which she can now do all the way to 65! She’s also designed her own pizza and had a go at the Fast Food Rocker’s Playdoh Gym. What a busy week you’ve had!
Jake has been working on his reading, writing and numbers this week. As I mentioned before he has written his full name independently as well as practicing writing his numbers too. He’s also been working on his sight-reading and Mum sent me brilliant video of Jake reading some of his sight-reading story. Wonderful work, Jake!
Nicola has been in school again for part of the week with Mrs Woods, Mrs O’Connell and Miss Aindow. She has been reading the Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza story and using the Colourful Semantics to comment on what is happening in the pictures (who doing what where). She’s also made some yummy looking pizza with Miss Aindow in the cooking room, I hope you enjoyed eating it Nicola. Nicola has also been working on her writing and writing the words from the story. Well done, Nicola!
Rose has been enjoying Purple Mash and Education City again this week. Mum says she has been loving reading Room on the Broom at home and has been playing a Room on the Broom memory game too. Rose has been practicing her writing and over-writing the key words from the Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza book and has also made a mouth-watering looking pizza following the recipe that we sent home. Rose has been carrying on with her regular walks and Mum said a little red Robin ended up following them on one of their walks this week. Super work, Rose.
Skye has been working hard on Education City and Purple Mash this week. She’s been playing parachute games outside and even snakes and ladders in the sunshine! Well done, Skye.
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading about what all of your friends have been getting up to.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you next Friday for our next video call!
Mrs Fisher, Mrs Down, Mrs England and Miss Aindow
