Well hello everyone. What a busy week we have had again. We have embraced the six star challenge again this week. I'm sure lots of grown ups have particularly enjoyed the How Can I Help? part of the challenge as there are lots of pictures of tidy bedrooms. We also had a great quiz on Monday afternoon as part of our Teams Meeting and got to ask Mrs Down some questions to help us get to know her better. It was lovely to see and hear you chat to each other. Mrs Down is busy planning for next weeks meeting so I hope you are all as excited as I am about it.Shall we see what everyone has been up to since our last blog?
Faith
Faith has had a very busy week and really taken on the Six Star challenge as well as her usual homework. She has been working hard on her number bonds using numicon and practicing her hand writing. She has been busy tidying her room as part of the challenge. Well done Faith I bet mum is very happy. She has done some amazing Just Dance workouts and joined in with the breathing exercises too. You look so happy when doing the Just Dance workouts Faith. Well done you are a super star.
Robyn
Robyn was a kind friend and did a door step delivery to Faith to drop a little gift off to let her know she is missing her, all whilst socially distancing. That's lovely Robyn. She enjoyed a camping out at home evening and toasted marshmallows with mum, mmm I love toasting marshmallows too. Robyn was busy tidying her bedroom but now needs to tidy all her stuff from the upstairs hallway as that's where she moved it all to!!! She has done some super writing about Mary Anning again and also about the research she has done about sea lions. She then put this into a power point presentation and delivered it. This was amazing work Robyn well done. We tried two experiments about volcano eruptions but the first one wasn't the best eruption so we tried again, this one was much better. She was also a super chef making some Caribbean Chicken and Rice, that definitely got the thumbs up!!
Thomas
Thomas has worked really hard on the Six Star Challenge too. Just check out the pictures, he tidied his room even though mum said it took over 3 hours as he kept getting distracted, Thomas does have lots of toys to distract him so that's easily done. He's also been doing some fantastic Just Dance moves, you looked like you were having a fun time. I love the map that you sent us to show the walk around your home too and the fact that you helped mum along the way. That's so grown up of you. You've also been helping mum make bolognese sauce, I wish we had smelly vision as I bet it smelt delicious. Well done Thomas you've had a great week.
Sarah
Sarah has sent us some pictures of her Math Trail she has completed at home. That's brilliant Sarah, I bet you had a great time doing this as I know you really enjoy doing Forest Schools with Miss Zara. We know that you found 10 red flowers, made a twig triangle and a circle stone, found 7 weeds and 3 acorns but no conkers, pine cones or traffic cones anywhere. You did absolutely amazing Sarah, well done.
Mrs Devlin and Miss Zara
We have both been busy in school. We've had fun with the volcano experiments and making an old family recipe of Mrs Devlin's- Caribbean Chicken and Rice. This definitely got the thumbs up from the chefs and tasters. When the weather is nice Miss Zara is keeping busy on cycle rides in the evening and Mrs Devlin has started C25K again!!!
Mrs Down
During this weeks 8R Teams Meeting, Mrs Clarke held a quiz all about 8R. Not only did this show me how well everyone knew each other, it also gave me a chance to get to know them more. Here is what I found out…
Rebecca is a Scout! I’m looking forward to hearing what adventures she gets up to.
Sam supports Everton Football Club – good luck in the derby on Sunday Sam.
Michael’s favourite type of car is a Tesla (he might have mentioned this to me once or twice in school).
Callum has a puppy called Milo, I love that name and I am looking forward to seeing this puppy grow.
Cordell loves to draw a certain type of transport, having seen him with lots of model aeroplanes in our meetings, I got this one right!
Robyn attends choir with her mum, I’ve heard Robyn do some lovely singing and can see why she is in a choir.
Sarah loves to bring teddies to school to show everyone. These lovely teddies often make an appearance on our weekly meetings too.
When asked what show Lewis likes the best, everyone said Nuzzle and Scratch. I had not heard of this before but it looks a lot of fun.
Faith has a pet dog at home, I got this one right too as her lovely dog often joins us at our weekly meetings.
Tyler loves to spend his weekends in a caravan and in Southport. Southport is a lovely place and I can see why Tyler likes to spend his weekends there.
Thomas has a pet budgie. I remember in one of our first Teams Meetings, the budgie made a flying visit on screen!
Malachi’s favourite food is McDonalds! Hopefully you will have had a McDonalds recently as thankfully they are now opening again.
Mrs Devlin’s dog is called Archie, Miss Zara has cats at home and Mrs Clarke’s children are called Jake and Annie.
Phew, I learnt lots of amazing facts about you all, thank you, and I look forward to getting to know you more in the future.
Mrs Down.
Mrs Clarke
Mrs Clarke has been busy planning activities for your home learning and is loving seeing the photos that are being uploaded to EFL showing her what you have been up to. She really enjoyed the quiz and learning some new facts about Mrs Down. Annie and Jake are keeping her and Mr Clarke very busy too.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and look forward to seeing you for Mrs Down's Team Meeting on Monday afternoon.
Stay safe everyone and look after yourselves.
