Just because we can't all be in school together doesn't mean we all join in together doing things we enjoy.  Lunch clubs have been setting some activities for pupils to get involved with and it has been lovely to see pupils joining in.  Here's a summary of what we've done so far:

Film club were asked to watch a film with an animal in it and write a film review.  We had 2 great reviews on Mr Stink and a lovely review on Shrek.

Lego club were asked to build a rainbow out of Lego.

Signalong choir uploaded a video to our YouTube channel with the signs for "Stargazing" which we were busy practicing before lockdown.  There have been other signing songs also featured on Astley Park School YouTube for pupils to practice including "True Colours" and "I Can Sing a Rainbow".

Dance club have been following our YouTube tutorials on dance moves to "Dance Monkey" and many pupils took part in the "Just Dance" challenge which featured on our weekly 6 star challenge.

Well done to everyone who has got involved so far!

Here are our new lunchclub activiites:

FILM CLUB

Watch a film that is set in space.  See if you can tell us what you thought about it.  Film review sheets are available on our school website in downloadable resources or you can make your own.

LEGO CLUB

Have a go at building your favourite animal in different colours.

SIGNALONG CHOIR

Watch the new video on our YouTube channel to learn the signs for  "You've Got a Friend in Me" and have a go at singing and signing it.

DANCE CLUB

Lets get dancing with one of our favourite warm up tracks! Search on YouTube for Just Dance Eye of the Tiger and get moving!

CODING CLUB

Explore the code.org website and learn about a code called Blockly.  There are two YouTube videos to help. The first video explains the basics of coding. You need to go on code.org, press start learning then choose grade K5 and click on course A. You can also play along using the resources on our website.

The second video explores Blockly and explains how to move Bb8 to find the scrap metal and Scrat to find his acorn.

Please forward any photos or videos of pupils joining in with any of our lunch time club activities to class teachers as we love to see you taking part!
