Well, here we are nearly at the end of our time together as 8R. It has certainly been a very challenging year for us all but we are very proud of each and every one of you. We have seen some amazing work from you all and have loved our Teams Video calls when we have been able to catch up with each other and find out how we are all doing. This week on our video call Mrs Clarke asked us to give our best memory of being together as a class in 8R. It was lovely to hear each of you tell us what your favourite memory was. Some of you said the trip to the Police Museum in Manchester, others said the trip to the Works of Heart at Christmas when we decorated out own pieces of pottery. A few of you said the trip to the restaurant The Astley. Mrs Clarke loved the trip to Astley Park when every body played together and had lots of laughs, even some of the staff enjoyed the zip wire! Miss Zara's best memory was the Christmas performance when you all sang, signed and acted out This is Me. I still say we were robbed of the Golden Buzzer on BGT! Mrs Down is very excited to make more memories with you in 9R. Mrs Devlin will miss you as you move up and she stays in 8R but you can't escape a Devlin so she will be around school and still say hello!
Anyway lets see what's been happening this week.
So Robyn has been busy in the kitchen preparing her lunch for the next day. Her chicken always smells amazing and makes me and Miss Zara hungry for our lunch. She made some meatballs and sauce and was very pleased with the end result. The artwork produced this week has been lovely and made us all smile. Then came the really messy bit, Robyn got to research making slime and then followed the instructions as well as adding her own ideas. It was so messy we had to wash Robyn's t-shirt !! One of our favourite activities was making our lava lamp. Check out the pictures. As part of the Six Star Challenge we had to take wonderful photos of the world around us. Robyn made a lovely pic collage of her favourite photos. Great work Robyn.
Michael has really taken the challenge set by Murphy seriously. He has completed the Three Peak Challenge and is now in credit as he has walked so many extra steps. Mr Murphy has now added Mount Everest to the challenge. I wonder if you can manage that climb Michael? He has also thrown himself into the Six Star challenge. I loved how you tried to do as many squats in a minute as you could. Michael surprised us all by hoovering the classroom too!! He definitely knows how a hoover works and helped clean around his desk. He has been working on a car of the future too. I bet you can't wait to see how that turns out? You've worked hard this week Michael, well done.
Faith has been working hard with her mum on 3 digit column addition using Numicon. I love the photograph you have sent Faith. We will owe you a star for that work, well done.
Next week on our Teams Video call we are hoping that Mrs Cobham will be joining us all so that you can all say hello. Why don't you have a question ready for her so that you can find out more about her? I know she is as excited about moving into 9R as much as you all are.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. I'm looking forward to seeing you next Monday on Teams Video call. Keep sending your photographs to Mrs Down and Mrs Clarke for what will be our last 8R blog.
