On Monday morning Rowan class have been exploring the continuous provision activities set out across the classroom. We matched up words and pictures in the flour tray and decorated pictures of hedgehogs and trees with feathers, tissue paper and plasticine. In the afternoon we took part in Attention Autism and made some biscuits in the shape of leaves. We all took it in turns and worked together as a team.
On Tuesday morning we did some maths work. We used number sponges to splat paint on a big piece of paper. We loved getting messy in maths. Some of us made towers with cubes and counted the cubes. Some of use used different shaped to make patterns with the link connectors. In the afternoon we played some games to practice our turn taking skills.
On Wednesday morning Rowan class played some more turn taking games to practise our sharing skills. In the afternoon Mr Murphy set up a team game for us to play. We were put into two teams and using the tweezers we had to separate the different coloured balls. It was a little bit like hungry hippos but on a bigger scale! Mr Murphy then made us yummy fruit smoothies for us to enjoy.
On Thursday morning we made some decorations for Halloween. We stuck some tissue paper onto laminator pouches and placed pumpkin and leaf stencils on top. In the afternoon Rowan class had some time on the climbing frame. We did some really good climbing and playing together. We also played some more games to work on our turn taking skills.
On Friday morning Miss Albrighton did an Attention Autism session which focused on phonics and letter sounds. Rowan class had fun spraying shaving foam letters and matching letters to items that start with the initial sound. After Attention Autism we did some really good letter using the finishing game and some of us did some reading with Miss Aindow. In the afternoon we watched some of the film “Hotel Transylvania” and then had some choose time before our virtual celebration assembly.
What a busy week in Rowan class. Well done everyone on some fantastic work!
