This week 8R have got their classroom ready for Christmas! We have spent lots of time making decorations, decorating the tree and putting up their decorations around the classroom.
Even during all these exciting things we have still managed to do lots of super work. We carried on our work looking at all the different continents around the world. We worked in little groups and used our iPads to do some research. We found out some amazing facts about all the different continents. We even found out that Antarctica is a desert!!! We couldn’t believe it when we found this out.
We have done lots of good work during our maths lessons this week and have started looking at money. We talked about why we use money and why it is important for us to understand how to add it together and take it away. We are all going to be planning our very own Christmas party, with our favourite games and food soon! Miss Brophy is going to give us a budget so we can look online at how much it would cost for our party.
In our English work we have been discussing informal letters and looking at how these are written. We did some really good work and were able to identify so many of the different features of the letters. We are going to use all the things we found out about letters to write a really important letter to Father Christmas.
In our cooking this week we got into the Christmas spirit and made some amazing ginger biscuits. We cut these into Christmas shapes and then decorated them with icing and sprinkles. They tasted amazing.
This week we have all been amazing actors and actresses. We have filmed all of our part for the Christmas production and we can’t wait for you to see it!!
Everyone in 8R hopes you have a great weekend!
