What a surprise to wake up to on Monday morning - snow!!! At lunchtime Michael and Rebecca had great fun throwing snowballs at each other and at Miss Zara and Mrs Cobham. The snow was still there on Tuesday but we couldn’t have another snowball fight as it was too icy. We’ve been learning about WW1 again, this week we’ve looked at the jobs that women did in the war and watched a couple of videos about Land Girls and the Canary Girls. Rebecca and Robyn decided that being a land girl would be hard work but they would have had a go to help everyone not go hungry. On Thursday it was Holocaust Memorial Day so we each made a poster and we watched a clip of a lady who survived Auschwitz , it made us feel really sad that so many people were treated so badly when they had done nothing wrong. We researched WW1 transport and chose one to draw - we hope you like our pictures. We’ve worked hard on the 6 star challenge this week, everyone in class has helped out at home, from washing up and setting the table to using the dishwasher and polishing the furniture - well done everyone. We’ve written book reviews and tried to drink lots of water too - we are already looking forward to next weeks 6 star challenge. We have enjoyed 2 TEAMs calls with our friends, we’ve had a quiz, done some exercise and also had time to have a chat. Sarah sent some photos - she had a walk and found memorials that remember soldiers in the war. Last weeks star of the week was Faith for completing some amazing work from home and joining and contributing to our Teams meetings - well done Faith. This weeks star of the week in 9R is Sam - for using great effort at home and making valuable contributions to all the Teams meetings - well done Sam. Those of you at home don’t forget to check EFL for a weekly video from staff and remember you can upload work or photos of anything you’ve done to EFL of email to staff.
