This term in Willow class our topics is sail the seven seas and our first book had been Peter Pan!

In Willow class we try our best in every lesson but our teachers especially wanted to celebrate our English work in this weeks blog.

The children have been doing some amazing imaginative writing work all about the different settings and the characters travelling from London to Neverland.
Last week we wrote setting descriptions and looked at the characters in the opening scenes to make some puppets. This week we used our puppets to put on puppet shows, acting out scenes from the story and answering tricky questions from staff where we needed to use our reasoning skills and inference skills.
We have also been sequencing the events of the story, retelling the story in our own words, and were introduced to Captain Hooks ship, using colourful semantics to describe it. Some Willow students even started a guided reading group and started looking at different word types used within JM Barrie’s writing, finding proper nouns  and adjectives.

Keep up the good work Willow class!
