The pupils and staff in 11 G have been kept very busy this week and the week has flown past so quickly as we have had lots of fun and done lots of learning both inside and outside of the classroom.

We have been creating and making Father’s Day  and friendship cards in preparation for next Sunday and they all look fab with lots of colours  and glitter. We all think our dads and friends will really like them.

As usual we have spent time watering all of our plants and vegetables inside the poly tunnel. The broad beans in particular are coming on really well.
Whilst we were watering our plants we also had a wander around the bushes and trees to try to find a suitable place to hang our bird box which was very kindly donated to 11G by the site supervisor, Martin. Thank you very much Martin.
We all eventually decided on a sturdy looking tree near to the edge of the school field and Martin has promised to nail it up for us next week.
How exciting it will be if we get nesting birds and maybe even eggs and baby birds.

We have been getting lots of exercise while the weather has been dry, walks around the track, ball games and yesterday we had a game of rounders in the sunshine.
Today we got lots more exercise and we also had a fun time on Astley park. We are so very lucky to have our school within a very easy walking distance to such a beautiful park and we all enjoyed playing on the slide, climbing frame, wooden castle and in the large sand pit.
We certainly worked up an appetite for our favourite school meal of the week…Friday fish and chips or pizza and chips. Yum.

Some of our learners have begun to go out to colleges with staff on transition days to get a taste of where they will be going in September and they have all had the most fabulous time.
Leah and Georgia have visited West Lancs school and they really enjoyed putting up a tent together . They worked really hard on this project and managed to get the tent up independently and also had a look at a couple of the classrooms where they will be spending time.

Eleanor was very excited to be visiting My Life where she soon got stuck in helping to muck out the horses, meeting chickens and helping to brush up outside the stables. Eleanor was very sensible and asked lots of fab relevant questions.

James also visited West Lancs and he really liked working outside in the gardens where he was taught how to safely use a strummer around all of the flower beds to make them look tidy.

So, a very busy and enjoyable week for everyone in 11G.

Stay safe and have a great weekend. Ms Lea. X
