Wow! What another busy week in 11G. We have been continuing with our Duke of Edinburgh work this week. For the physical element we have been visiting the gym weekly. The learners never fail to amaze us with their perseverance and have shown huge improvements each week. The volunteering element has consisted of household tasks including using the washing machine, the tumble drier and the dishwasher. 11G have also taken on the role of recycling for the whole school. Pupils in class take turns to work in pairs, go to each class in school and collect their recycling.
On Thursday this week the pupils worked on their independent skills. The class split in to 2 groups. One half went shopping and one half baked biscuits. At the supermarket pupils worked on finding items on their shopping list in small groups and using the scanner at the self service checkout independently. At school pupils read the recipe and worked together to weigh out the ingredients, mix them, roll out the dough and cut it out with various biscuit cutters. The pupils works safely and efficiently as a team. And the biscuits tasted delicious!!!!!
