We have been lucky enough to leave school this week for two visits!

We have been doing lots of top-secret practice for our Christmas production, we can’t wait for you all to see it.

On Tuesday we went to watch Cinderella at Victoria Halls in Bolton. We had a brilliant time watching the performance, singing along, cheering and joining in with the shouting (oh no we didn’t!).

In the afternoon we made brownies ready to sell to staff to raise money for prom and on Wednesday morning we worked together to package, label and deliver staff orders around school. We raised a whopping £38 this week!

On Thursday morning, Mrs Cobham very kindly drove us to Bents Garden Centre near Warrington. We really enjoyed exploring the huge amount of Christmas decorations that were on display and planned out which decorations we would choose for our houses if money was no object. The weather stayed dry until we needed to head back so we managed a cheeky go on the playground at the back of the garden centre. We stopped at Browns Chippy in Chorley on our way home to get some chips to accompany our packed lunches, delicious!

Mrs Cobham has blogged about Thursday afternoon too: https://astleypark.lancs.sch.uk/blog/2023-12-08-08-36-26-11g-learn-all-about-christmas

Our Star of the Week this week goes to Joshua! Joshua has demonstrated excellent participation during both of our visits out this week- following instructions and joining in with his friends, then this morning Josh has been taking part in his Spell to Communicate intervention with Mrs Cobham in the workstation outside the class for the first time and working really hard.
