The end of this term is finally upon us! It has been a whirlwind few weeks in 11G. From preparation and filming of the Christmas Production last week, to the performance this week. Making Christmas crafts to bring home and baking brownies to fundraise for prom. Then this week we have been Secret Santa shopping with Mrs Fisher to buy something special for our secret friend, a quick visit from Santa and a film afternoon yesterday and finished with our class Christmas party this afternoon.
This year, instead of receiving a gift from Santa when he visited class yesterday it was put to a vote as to what the learners wanted to do with the money. The majority vote was for the money to be used to buy a special dinner for the learners after our Christmas break. Pupils have voted for their meal of choice this week so Mrs Fisher will organise this for the first or second week back after Christmas. Class have funded our Secret Santa this year, so your child will be coming home with some gifts this afternoon that were bought for them by their special friend.
For our Christmas party this year we played a game of pass the parcel which Jacob was the winner for. Then this afternoon, 11R came and joined us for the Year 11 Christmas Olympics! We split into 3 teams with Tyler, Danny and Harry being captains. We had three rounds of games that everyone joined in with: Hungry Hungry Reindeer, Toilet paper drink and Malteasers challenge. The winning team was Team DLT who took the Gold medal. Team 4 Musketeers came second for the Silver medal and Team Red Army scooped the Bronze medal. Well done everyone! We finished off the afternoon with Star of the Week assembly in the hall and some Christmas carols.
A huge congratulations to our last Star of the Week for 2023: Lily! We have had some visitors from Rowan class this week who have come to 11G to spend some time with us and Lily has been the perfect role-model. Modelling excellent play skills and chatting with the younger pupils, showing empathy and supporting them when they needed it. Well done Lily!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to our performances this week, we hope you enjoyed watching the Modern Nativity as much as we enjoyed making. It was all written by the pupils and we are sure you will agree, turned our brilliantly. You can re-watch the nativity whenever you like on our YouTube channel.
From all of the 11G staff team, we would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will see everyone when school reopens on Monday 8th January.
