Celebrating Neurodiversity in 8A

This week 8A has been looking at Neurodiversity and celebrating “Different Minds” and that it’s good to be different. We are all different!

8A played a small game of bingo. The cards had different types of people’s hair.

Miss Robertson then showed a PowerPoint explaining how everyone in the world is different.  The PowerPoint looked at people’s hair type and colour and also people’s skin colour. The PowerPoint also looked at who we may live with and explained that a family can be made up of different people. We even found out what pets 8A have at home.

Miss Robertson then explained that everyone has a “Spikey Profile” and this is ok. A person can be good at one thing and may find other things a bit tricky.

8A then participated in a carousel of different activities to celebrate Neurodiversity and to celebrate being different.

The first carousel was to answer questions about themselves. They had to write down their favourite food, things that they are good at, favourite book, what they like to play and their favourite movie.

The next carousel was to colour in a book mark celebrating great minds don’t always think alike.

For the last carousel, 8A used their painting skills and painted posters which said “ Celebrate Neurodiversity “.

It was lovely seeing the learners enjoying the activities. Well done 8A.
