Yesterday our year 11s had their prom! It's been a very busy past few weeks getting everything finalised and ready and we're all so glad that the day ran smoothly and everyone had a great time.

We welcomed our learners to school in the afternoon where they were all dressed up and ready for the events to begin! We all met in the training suite where we had some nibbles and drinks and had our photos taken by the lovely Gemma. Once everyone was in and ready Mr Welsh joined us for a toast and some fizz before our parade around the track so the rest of the school could see how brilliant everyone looked.

After the parade we all went back to the training suite to wait for our limos to turn up, getting in some more photos and snacks before it was time to go! Each class got their own limo and we got to go in the white one. We were joined by Mr Welsh who, very carefully, poured us all some drinks to enjoy as we drove and we all had a great time listening to the music and dancing under the party lights.

When we arrived at Shaw Hill, the learners parents were there to greet them and we took lots and lots of photos until it was time to go in for our meal! We had a main and a dessert and everyone said the desserts were delicious, especially the sticky toffee pudding which was a favourite! After our meal, Mr Welsh gave a little speech where he said how proud he was of all of our Year 11 pupils and the progress they have made. Now, time for dancing! We had lots of our favourite songs on and some good party classics like the cha-cha slide and YMCA which got everyone up onto the dancefloor.

After all of the dancing was done it was time to go home and our learners were picked up their parents, tired and ready for a good nights sleep. We hope everyone had a brilliant time and that you all had lots of fun! A big thank you to everyone who helped raise money to make this day possible and a massive thank you to our learners who make all the hard work worth it.
