This week in 7A has been a busy one!
Our ‘new’ food this week was plums. Some of us had never tried plums but we all really enjoyed them. A few people said they were like a cross between an apple and orange.
Autumn poems found the rhyming words and then coloured rhyming words in different colours and found more of our own rhyming words.
On Monday we had music with Miss Troughton. We listened to a piece of music and chose an instrument to play along to the beat.
We then listened to the Piccolo March and used a part of our body to play along. After this we marched around the classroom to the beat of the music alongside turntaking in playing the drum. Everyone had a fantastic time and are looking forward to next weeks lesson.
In My thinking and problem solving, we worked on coding. We used our iPads and had to make the fish move in different directions. Another group made a list of instructions (an algorithm) on our Choiceworks app to draw a picture of an object making sure we didn’t skip any steps, Miss Grant then followed the instructions to draw our creations.
Our Food Tech lesson this week was to make bread rolls, we bought some from Asda on our community visit and did a taste comparison. 7/10 of us preferred the ones that we had made in school.
On Thursday it was Diwali as well as Halloween. 7A did a few craft activities including making a ‘disgusting meal’ they consisted of fly soup, slug infested cheese and mouldy cheese and slime sandwiches…eeewwwwww. We found this extremely entertaining. We finished off by making a Halloween lantern.
Mrs Hough taught us all about Diwali and bought some items of clothing including a sari to try on. We then made some Diwali cards and mendhi hand prints. Thank you Mrs Hough!!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
