Before our trip to Bendrigg year 11 have enjoyed a Duke of Edinburgh Carousel morning.
Our first visitor was Mrs Jones. Mrs Jones demonstrated some basic first aid skills that we might need whilst we are out and about in the countryside. We got to have a practice on things like broken bones, sprains and cuts and grazes. What we could do, what not to do, who we could call for help.
Our second visitor was Mrs Bentham. Mrs Bentham came to talk to us about the Country Code, Respect, Protect, Enjoy. As part of this we thought about Leave gates as you find them, Leave no trace, Stick to pathways and following signs. This created a class discussion about how we would stick to these rules and what things we could do to help. We then watched a short film to explain what we had discussed
