9A have been really busy since the Christmas break.
We found that we have some budding gymnasts in PE. Pupils did really well balancing on the beams and keeping a bean bag on their heads whilst navigating around obstacles. Over the PE lessons pupils have used equipment like hula hoops and mats to perform different kinds of rolls and made balancing more difficult by trying to walk backwards whilst being helped by a friend. 9A have really been enjoying these lessons and put a lot of effort and hard work into them.
In Maths we have been concentrating on subtraction. Some pupils used the ‘subtraction monster’ were they started with a number of counters and each time the monster ate some of them and we had to work out how many were left and wrote the number sentence down.
In Design and Technology pupils have designed their own torches using recycled materials and using a real light inside them. There were some really imaginative designs like a cat, cars, a light sabre, a dog and a bird to name a few.
In music percussion instruments have been used to listen to and copy the beat that pupils had just heard. We are now learning the Katy Perry song ‘Roar’ and the Makaton signs to go along with the song.
Our My Creativity Art lessons are now based around the theme ‘The Seaside’. We have seen some fantastic work drawings using different pens and pencils, after pupils have used their iPads to research what they would like to draw.
We have also continued with our Spanish lessons, looking at simple conversations like asking someone what their name is and how old they are.
