This half term we have been looking at our new topic - Food Glorious Food. In English we have been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In lesson we have been looking at the characters and have picked one to do a character description on. We have been reading the story each week and have had a go at sequencing events in order.
In PSHE we have been looking at money. We have looked at where money comes from, what we would do with money if we had lots of it and looking at things that we needed Vs things we wanted.
This week we have been looking at road safety and discussing safe places to cross, such as zebra crossings and pedestrian crossings. We also talked about unsafe things to do when crossing the road, such as wearing headphones, being on the phone or crossing the road on a corner. We put these skills into practice when we visited Asda, making sure to keep safe.
We had a look at medicines, what are safe and what are not. We have talked about safety around medicines, how to take them and who can administer them to us. We have looked at harmful and helpful effects of some medicines.
In Art we have been focussing on digital media and collages out of food. We have been looking at what foods we could use for various parts of our faces, such as pizza eyes and pepper ears.
