Welcome back Beech class! Our topic this term is ‘My World’. This week we have focused on the countryside. Throughout continuous provision, we have explored a range of farm themed trays. We have washed the animals, made pigs jump in muddy puddles, explored Mrs hen and her eggs and sang old McDonald has a farm.

During attention autism and adult led activities, we made tractor prints, made paper plate hens, engaged in painting eggs, flour shakes and fed the animals.

Our main target focus this week has been ‘communication and interaction’. Some of us have moved onto phase 2 PECs and are beginning to travel! Using motivating toys such as the bubble gun, trains and crocodile, we travelled to our book and exchanged the visuals with an adult. We had so much fun and played amazingly with our peers.

Others have used a wide range of communication boards. With model prompts, we requested different farmyard animals, the doll house, bubbles and play doh. We also enjoyed playing an action game with our peers. We requested each other to run fast or slow and did great turn taking on the bikes.

Well done everybody! Have a great weekend.
