It was Group 2's turn to cook this week.
First, Mrs England read the recipe to the group and then it was time to collect the equipment. Pupils were encouraged to use the labels on the cupboards in the Food Tech room to find the equipment that they needed. Everyone worked together and managed to find everything that they needed.
First we laid the pastry out onto the table very carefully so it didn't rip. Then we squirted tomato puree onto the pastry. We used a pastry brush to spread the tomato puree all over the pastry, it got a bit messy!
Then it was time to grate the cheese. Skye carefully used the scissors to open the packet and then everyone had a turn at using the grater to grate the cheese up.
We ripped the basil leaves into pieces ready to add to the tomato puree. We sprinkled the cheese all over the pastry/tomato puree, then added some basil leaves too.
Finally, we very carefully rolled the pastry up into a big cylinder. Then Miss Aindow used a sharp knife to cut it into pieces.
