What a fantastic day we had celebrating World Book Day. We had a wonderful, busy, fun-filled day!
In Oak we had lots of wonderful characters walk through the door! We had a unicorn, sonic, dinosaurs, Mary Popins, a Cat, a Lion, a Princess, Shine, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hulk and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
In the morning we shared our feelings in morning group and we got to choose a friend to guess who our favourite character was. We then read the story ‘Walking through the Jungle’. We all took our shoes and socks off and ‘walked’ in all the different places around the world, including the jungle, the desert, the ocean and the mountains! Some of us even got to search for the animals we could see around the world! Ellie saw a lion, Oscar saw a whale, Tig saw a wolf, Ruby saw a crocodile and Josh saw a snake!
After the story we got busy in class! Some of us made up stories and played with the animals, some of us used sound buttons and matched them to animals, some of us even acted out the story taking turns to read, act and take pictures and videos of our friends.
After dinner Miss Cross did an Attention Autism where we used different colours to make our own animal prints!
We enjoyed lots of activities with our friends in class too, including, dressing up, colouring and lots of different animal trays to explore from our book.
Before home time we then went into the hall to show off our fantastic costumes doing some dancing and parading for the whole school to see!
