Hello to all the 8G followers,
I hope we find you safe and well. This week we have been looking at the American celebration of Thanksgiving. The pupils learned that this is the start of the festive season and started in 1620 to mark the first year of the Pilgrims arrival. The pupils did a short reading task at their level on Wednesday before revisiting the topic today. After a discussion on the similarities and differences with the celebration of Christmas, all the pupils made a turkey model using craft items.
In ‘World About Me’ we continued to look at different animal types. Some pupils painted models of birds and mammals and sorted them into groups, while others looked at different animals types and sorted them in to the correct category- amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, fish and insects. All the pupils have developed their knowledge and understanding of the natural world and could sort the animals with a high degree of accuracy.
As December edges ever closer, we began rehearsing our Christmas production which involves us singing and signing a well known Christmas anthem.
Have a safe and relaxing weekend.
From all the 8G Teaching and Learning Team.
