After a much deserved break, 9R were back in action and ready to start another term of doing some brilliant work. On Monday our learners in school continued our WW2 topic by researching Anne Frank and her famous journal during the war. They discovered lots of interesting facts about her life and they worked really hard to complete a reading comprehension task about her.
In class the pupils also had a lovely chat during our morning nurture time about what they had got up to during their week off and everybody had lots of questions to ask each other. The class then did some excellent writing and created a half-term journal on Book Creator using their class I-Pads. Thomas also sent us some great photos of himself making some delicious pancakes and biscuits, which made us all feel very hungry!
On Tuesday and Thursday, our school learners also joined up with some of our home learners in our weekly Microsoft Teams call and we had a good catch up with them. It was also Malachi’s birthday last Sunday so we all sang Happy Birthday to him. He was very happy that we remembered his birthday and he enjoyed our loud singing!
As part of LGBT History Month, we talked about the meaning of family. We had a class discussion about different family types and we explored all the different types of family that we have. We then drew a picture of our families, who may sometimes live with us at home or live away from us in another home, and we agreed that sometimes our special friends can be a part of our family too.
On Friday morning we also had our Celebration Assembly and this week’s class star was Lewis for listening well to instructions. Well done, Lewis!
