On Monday, we wore odd socks in Oak Class to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day which was on Sunday 21st March. We chose the brightest, fluffiest socks we could find and wore them with pride for two pupils in our class who have diagnoses of Down Syndrome.

We have continued exploring zoo for a final week in Oak Class. We got really messy when we dipped our animals in paint then ran them across the paper to look at their footprints. Some were big, some were small and all of them had different shapes!

We read and sang The Monkey Puzzle story, Where’s My Mom? again and loved listening to how all animals are different. We were able to identify that some animals had legs, some had feathers, some had wings and they live in lots of different places.

We’ve been making tiger enclosures and gates for the zoo using playdough and building our hand muscles as well as really enjoying how it stretches and breaks into small pieces.

And of course we didn’t forget that next week is Easter and we’re celebrating the new season of Spring by decorating cardboard eggs and making Easter/Spring cards!

Well done to all of Oak Class for this term, we hope you have a good half term and stay safe.
