It has been assessment week in 7A this week so we have all been working hard to complete our assessments and mastering our Personalised Learning Goals.

This week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning we have been practicing our Maths skills in My Thinking and Problem Solving- completing our assessments to see what we have learnt this school year and continuing with our Personalised Learning Goals.

On Thursday morning, as part of My Communication, we were practicing our writing and reading. Some of us were independently writing sentences about photos and using a visual checklist to check we had written them correctly, some of us were building sentences using Colourful Semantics symbols to describe photos from residential, and some of us were working on our sight reading- writing our words from memory.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon we have been working on our social skills. Some of us have been learning about the importance of trying to think before we speak, which can be really difficult, especially when we are feeling angry or in a silly mood. Some of us were concentrating on Online Safety- thinking about online bullying and how it would feel to be bullied online, and talking about information that is safe to share online with strangers and what information we should keep to ourselves.

On Thursday afternoon, we all took part in a Euro 2021 inspired Football Training Camp as part of our PE session. We worked with a friend and moved between the 4 stations to complete different activities to perfect our skills- dribbling circuit, tapping the ball between our feet and trying to travel whilst doing this, jumping/stepping over the ball (side to side or forwards and backwards) and doing keep uppies. We were all very hot and sweaty when we had finished!

Finally, on Friday it was our annual Awards Assembly, this year on Teams. We watched it in class altogether and it was really nice to see 7A supporting the other pupils across school by clapping and cheering for them. Our pupil of the year in 7A was Jake for a massive improvement, both in his behaviour and also academically. Amazing work Jake, we are so proud of you! Megan and JJ also won awards for being our fantastic class representatives for School Council, well done both of you!

Josh was our Star of the Week this week for trying really hard to think before he speaks, we know you find this tricky Josh but we are so pleased with how hard you are trying to do this.
