8A are continuing to learn about Sculptures in their art work this half term (as part of our Spring theme Our Planet).
This week we learnt that sculptures can be made of any sort of material, but that the most common ones are metal, stone and clay.
To link to the Our Planet theme, we decided to make sculptures of natural objects. These could look like the object that we chose or it could be our own interpretation of the natural object.
Learners used their iPads to search on Google for an image of a natural object. The class chose lots of different items: cat, elephant, rock, owl, squirrel, eagle.
Next, everyone decided what material they wanted to use to make their sculpture: Playdoh, Plasticine or Clay.
We used our hands and different tools to make our sculptures.
We were so impressed with how well everyone engaged with this task. Everyone took their time and concentrated- amazing work 8A!
