Back to work in 9G
9G shared all their holiday fun with everyone.
Half term fun included holidays away in a pod, going to Blackpool, cake making, train journeys, film watching plus fun activities had at the holiday hero’s.
9G then had to write 4 separate sentences on what they got up to on the half term.
They wrote their sentences on a whiteboard before getting their iPads and making a half term book creator. What fantastic typing you all did with some great photos.
9G also looked at what regulation they could do if they ever become angry.
They chose going for a walk, listening to music, watching television and taking deep breaths, just naming a few.
In My Community 9G had a discussion on how we can keep our bodies healthy. We chatted about eating and drinking healthier. We carried on the discussion about having baths and showers. We have a mix of bath users and shower users in class. We chatted about how important it is to make sure we wash regularly to keep our bodies healthy and smelling nice, especially as we are getting older.
Then in pairs the class sequenced a list on what you should do first, next and so on when having a bath or a shower.
On Wednesday, it was Mrs Mahood’s time to spend some time in 9G. She brought in some drums and the class played the beat to the 80s song “The lion sleeps tonight by Tight Fit” which works along side our Safari topic. We definitely think we have some budding drummers in 9G.
In our Me and our Body lesson, we went into the hall. Whilst doing our warm up, the class played “The zoo keeper says”. The learners could only follow the instruction if Miss Brophy said the words “The zoo keeper says”
In the main activity the class had to go on a safari hunt, looking for different animals. They had to look for snakes, lions, zebras and giraffes.
We were lucky this week to do some cooking. The class split into two groups.
The groups looked at how to make flapjack and looked at what ingredients were needed and the method we had to follow. The class took turns in weighing the ingredients and transferring the ingredients into a bowl. They group mixed up the ingredients together carefully. Then the mixture got transferred into a dish. Staff placed it in the oven. The class had the flapjacks for afternoon snack…. Lots of yummy noises where heard when it was being eaten.
In the afternoon 9G recalled the ingredients. We were well impressed with the good remembering of the ingredients used, oats, sugar, butter and syrup.
Some of 9G then had to sequence the method in the correct order and others used their lovely handwriting and wrote out the method.
9G have worked extremely hard this week and deserve a well rested weekend…enjoy everyone!
