In Sycamore for International Woman’s Day we learnt about what International Woman’s Day is and why we celebrate it. We looked at how throughout history, women have been treated differently to men. We talked about how women was not allowed to vote and how in some job roles, men were paid more than women for doing the same job.
We looked at Pioneering Woman. We discussed “What does pioneering mean?”, we talked about Rosa Parks, Queen Victoria, Emmeline Pankhurst, Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart, Junko Tabei, Dame Ellen MAcArthur, and Queen Elizabeth ||.
From this we looked at which women was important to us, some of the ideas we had was mums, nannas, grandmas and sisters, then we drew a picture of them.
Happy International Woman’s Day from Sycamore.
