Welcome back Chestnut Class!

What a fantastic first week back we have had with all this glorious weather as we learn all about the beach and summer time! Chestnut class have enjoyed our new sensory story, ‘Sheldon Snail’s Sunbathing Sessions’ and learned about all the things we have to pack before he heads off to the beach but Sheldon has to hurry or the sun will go in and the moon will come out! We have been exploring lots of sensory experiences to support our understanding of a trip to the beach and working on our attention and communication skills through Attention Autism. We have been exploring a range of mark making tools and colour to paint fabulous pictures of Sheldon Snail and some of us have been mixing colours to make new ones. We have enjoyed the story tray and digging for shells and learning to count them from given numbers. During PE sessions we have been using the balance bikes and learning to navigate a course and showing awareness of obstacles. We have been working on our communication skills in the sensory theatre and lots of outdoor play in the sunshine. Super learning Chestnut Class!
