Good afternoon, all,
This week has been another blockbuster in 8A!
Let’s start with our Star of the Week Award. This week’s winner goes to Gemma. Gemma has been fantastic all week, showing great friendship skills throughout and showing improved participation in her PE lessons.
Way to Go Gem!
In class the all pupils have impressed me with their creative writing skills as they wrote their own comic strips. I’m sure you will agree from the pictures they are great.
Swimming saw the class swim 225 meters – that’s 9 lengths each! I was impressed with the determination shown by the pupils to keep going in this stamina-based session.
In our daily living skills lessons the pupils started to learn a new recipe – Butterfly cakes. This challenged the pupils to learn a new set on instructions and work without staff help. I am pleased to say they were able to adapt to this task with ease.
The pupils also continued to develop their safe travelling skills with two visits into the community.
The class seem to be getting more and more independent week on week making us all proud.
To motivate our reading sessions, we had our first visit from Coco the dog. The pupils got the opportunity to read to Coco and then take her for a walk. It was lovely to see the pupils engage and nurture Coco.
Oh – One final special mention. Olivia made the whole school proud when her dance troupe – The Shooting Stars, danced in front of an audience, of what looked like hundreds of people including some dancing celebrities.
Well done Liv! You are so Brave!
Have a great week everyone!
