We’ve had a great first week back in 9A!
We’ve not been out into the community this week but should be able to start our visits again next week.
In My Communication lessons this week, we have been learning about adjectives. Adjectives are describing words. We’ve been practising identifying adjectives in our set texts. One group is looking at the book “Meg, Mog and the Owl” and the other group has been looking at extracts from the Harry Potter books. We’ve also practised our personalised words numerous times throughout the week.
In My Thinking and Problem Solving lessons this week, we focused on independently identifying and ordering numbers 1-10 with some pupils and solving addition word problems with the rest of the class. We also made cheese, ham and onion toasted sandwiches as well as hot apple pie punch (linked to Bonfire Night celebrations) and mini victoria sponge cakes.
In The World About Me lessons, some of the pupils have been learning Spanish! They started off with basic greetings this week. For example, good morning, good afternoon and good evening.
We’ve also been very creative with paints this week and have completed many Bonfire Night activities such as mindfulness colouring, repeating patterns linked to Bonfire Night and code breaking. Finally, we also learnt about Bonfire Night through our very own version of the Blankety-Blank TV game show!
Have a great weekend, see you on Monday.
