10G were swimming on Friday morning so unfortunately we were unable to complete activities around Remembrance Day and take part in the minute silence.
During Nurture Time for the past week, pupils from 10G have been decorating pictures of poppies and Mrs Cobham has put them together to make a beautiful wreath which we are proudly displaying outside of our classroom.
On Monday afternoon the class took part in a circle time about Remembrance and what it means. We had some really good ideas and thoughts shared from the group. We talked about remembering people who fought in wars that happened a long time ago, and also agreed that we should be thinking about the people who are currently serving in the armed forces and who are fighting in the war now.
We watched a video clip about a girl who visited a World War Two museum and we watched as she laid a wreath that she had made of poppies at the cenotaph. Harry knew that at football matches at the weekend the players observed a minute silence to mark Remembrance Day.
Mrs Cobham very kindly shared some photographs of her Grandad Jackson, Grandad Ryding and Great Uncle Bert who all served in the army or navy during the war. We were all very interested in hearing about these real-life people. Jacob was particularly interested in looking at Grandad Jackson's medals that he earnt.
10G remembers.
