On Tuesday 6th February we celebrated Safer Internet Day at Astley Park School.
Our dedicated team of Digital Leaders have been meeting regularly this term to discuss ideas for the day. The Digital Leaders have also spoken to their classmates to find out what they are worried about online, and they have discovered that many of our learners are concerned about being scammed or hacked.
Learners spent the day exploring Online Safety in a variety of ways across the learning pathways. Many of our learners are confident in explaining some of the ways that they can keep themselves safe, such as keeping their passwords private and using an avatar rather than a photo for online profiles.
Our key message to learners throughout the day is: tell a trusted adult straight away if something doesn’t feel right online!
