Today KS4 and KS3 had a very special visitor; Kerry from Lowther Theatre came in to run a short workshop with a few of the KS4 and KS3 classes. We talked about all of the different jobs that are involved in the theatre, from actors and dancers to the lighting and sound production to the people who write the plays to the people who work at the box office.

We discussed how there's a bit of something for everyone within the theatre and the only thing you're limited by is yourself. Then we had a go at making our own mini still-life theatre production. We had a look at Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - we decided who was going to do each role and then we used the props and decorations that Kerry brought, to create a fitting set. We also used these props to create costumes for those who wanted to wear them.

Everyone had loads of fun and learnt lots about what working in and around the theatre could be like. A massive thank you to Kerry Tuhill from Lowther Pavilion for coming along and to Mrs Powell for organising it!
